Rachel Heidenry is a curator, art writer, and educator. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary art from the United States and Latin America, with particular interest in the history of mural movements, photojournalism, and archival theory. She has held positions at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, Santa Barbara; American Folk Art Museum, New York; and Slought Foundation, Philadelphia. From 2011-2012, she was a Fulbright research scholar in San Salvador, El Salvador.
She holds a MA in Modern & Contemporary Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU and a BA in Art History and Human Rights from Bard College.
She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and is currently based in Santa Barbara, California.
